Match report.
With a delayed kick off darts had a very good start considering an early yellow card for josh . Aggressive defence and work at the ruck resulted in a penalty and a good kick to the corner from Connor got Darts a great field position. A successful driving maul from the line out followed by a few phases ended with a great try from cochy. The rest of the first half followed along the same lines with a strong set piece for darts with a dominant lineout led by Ferret, and an aggressive darts defense resulting in a further two try’s from Martin and Coxy.
Coxy barrelled over the line from a 5m scrum won against the head. This came as a result of a great driving maul from which a certain hooker and author of this report went abit too early and was ruled to have knocked on over the line. This decision I still strongly disagree with but never mind that as long as we got the try in the end!

The second half started well for darts again with another try. However darts’ performance lulled shortly after and this wasn’t helped by a red card for Ed with a second yellow for a ruck infringement. Throughout the game there was so many cards on both sides you were never too sure how many players were actually on the pitch. Judds, to their credit, reacted to Darts’ lull in pressure and came back with 3 successive tries from wide breaks and pushed ever closer in the last 15 minutes. Then a well taken Cappa penalty stemmed the Judds resurgence and a last push in defence sealed a very good win for Darts. 22-17. The first half in particular was one of the finest half’s played by the Lemons so far this season.

Coach Whalo said after the game “a fantastic performance from the team today, they showed that they have been listening to my words of wisdom on the training field”.
When spoken to on the touch line, he was asked where the team can be improved for their next league game, he responded “All I'll say is that we are on the look out for a new scrum half.....if anyone knows of one who likes half time jelly babies then send them my number”
