The Angels entertained Park House and it started well for the visitors

The Angels entertained Park House and it started well for the visitors who were looking strong withnthe ball in hand using their backs and forwards to good effect whilst the young Darts team were getting used to each other with a number playing out of position. The game turned when Darts had two players binned against one for the visitors despite the fact the visiting winger clearly connected with three punches to the head. This prompted a great period of play where the young forwards kept control of the ball well trying to run the clock down however when they released the ball experirenced players Riley Horner and Mike Brent made great decisions and this was rewarded when Mike found a gap which he exploited and ran in for the first try. 5-0. Darts young pack was holding up well in the scrum with Kieron, Reggie and Joe Johnson in the front row handling their bigger opponents. Added to this Adam Selly and Aiden Greally were playing really well both in attack and defence driving the ball on and tackling everything. With this platform Darts created their second try with Joe Johnson finishing off a good move with the second try . 10-0. Unfortunately for the Angels the visitors strted to make the extra man count and after drawing the darts defence in moved the ball out wide to score in the corner. 10-5. It looked like another score was going to come from the visitors but Joe Johnson stole the ball 5 metres from his own line and the danger cleared .Darts continued to defend well and when they had the ball look dangerous and with Darlington , Joe Rees and James Lawes providing some incisive running . Putting good phase play together with Ciaran Brommet and Jack O'reiily taking the ball on this forced a penalty, form the lineoutDarts again looked penetrating and it No 8 Callum Lockwood who scored the third try and Mike converted. 17-5. An enjoyable match with both teams trying to attack all over the field and a break from Paark House was stopped when Darlington stole the ball and using his pace and power ran in from the half way line with Mike again adding the extrs points. 24-5 at half time
The second started well again for Darts and they moved on the attack but they lost the ball into touch, they made amends when they won the visitors ball and quick ball from James Matkins moved the ball to the backs and a slick move between Mike and Riley saw Mike slice his way through. 29-5. The boys were playing really and when the visitors attacked or kicked Aaron Wilson was there to clear things up and start a counter. From the kick off the made ground again and got the ball wide to James Lawes who sprinted in from 20 metres. Again Mike converted. 36-5. You would have expected the game to be over but when Ciaran had to leave the field the 14 men were under pressure for a period of 10 minutes and gave away too many penalties which allowed Park House to score two well taken tries to close the gap to 36-19. Darts adjusted well to this setback and again kept control of the ball and then released it as the defence were moving in giving Jack O'Reilly the opportunity to score and Mike again converted 43-19. Darts were resettled and a similar back move between Riley and Mike saw Mike cross for the final try and convert for a final score of 50-19.
A great all round performance by the team with a number of contenders for player of the match with Skippers Riley and Mike both leading from the front and settling down the young team when things werent going for them . The forwards were all exceptional against a big pack not taking a backward step with Aiden and Adam in the second row taking the game to the opposition.
