Dave’s Dynamos

What can I say? In a week etched in sadness, with a hastily arranged fixture (huge thanks for Colfes for heading down the A2 to get a game played), what an overwhelming turnout for the club.
The team sheet topped 34 players. And the sideline boasted many others who graced the park with Dave as player or coach.

Now to the game.

The Dynamos started with a more seasoned 15, and the younger Colfes made the early running. That being said some truly heroic tackling kept the scores level for the 30 minutes. Unfortunately the relentless pressure told and the visitors were able to break the deadlock.

When Darts did get the ball, the game plan was simple. Go through the phases with hard running. The half ended with the home side showing they could do more than chop down wave after wave of attack.
HT: 0-7
Darts refreshed the line up at half time, bringing on some comparative youth.

With that, the attack sparked into life and hit back almost immediately levelling at 7 a piece.

From there the game settled into a rhythm of nip and tuck.

Colfes struck back but couldn’t add the extras.
7-12.
Once again Darts upped the intensity over we went.

14-12

With the clock winding down Colfes pushed hard. Darts began to tire and at the death the visitors somehow got over out wide.

Once again the kick sailed wide. As it did, the final whistle blew.

Thank you to Colfes for the game. It was played in an amazing spirit. We very much appreciate you making the journey.

We may not have won the match, but I think Dave would have been proud.
