Clinical Camberley Win the Day

Darts knew this was a tough away day fixture and so it proved, but the lads battled hard and just missed out on a deserved try bonus point.

From the start Darts were pressing and building the phases, but an interception in the Camberley half led to the home sides first try...5-0 to Camberley, converted to 7-0. Sharp in the backs Camberley attacked up the left flank and the won a penalty in the Darts 10. Good Camberley interplay right to left, saw them pressing again, but a knock on in Darts 10 led to a scrum and allowed Darts to clear, but the visitors gave the ball away on half way. A penalty to Camberley in their 22 led to a line out to Camberley inside the Darts 10, but the ball was turned over , but Darts infringed and gave away a penalty in front of their own posts - Camberley kicked it to lead 10-0 after 15mins.....
An off the ball hit on Louis Chapman as Darts attacked in the Camberley 10 led to nothing, but the visitors were looking to build pressure with Jonny Regnier kicking in to Camberley's 10m, but the home side won the lineout and drove a maul 10 m before they kicked which was fielded by Gregor Westphel, moved left and Liam Brencher sprinted under posts 10-5... converted by Regnier 10-7.... 20 mins.... Unfortunately Darts knocked on from the re-start and then Camberley win a lineout from which they attacked and went over in at the corner 15-7, but missed the conversion 25 mins....A penalty to Darts on edge of the Camberley 10m saw a lineout taken by Jamie Clifford taken lineout and Darts attacked round front, but were forced in to touch. In winning the lineout Clifford gained a knee injury and Lewis Potter came on...At the next scrum a penalty was given against Darts for some reason, a lineout just inside the Camberley half resulted with some interplay, but a last ditch tackle by Darts could not stop another try for the home side - 20-7 on 33 mins....missed conversion .
Good pressure by Darts from kick off led to a Camberley knock on and a scrum to Darts 15m out, but Camberley won the ball back, but a scrum on half way led to a further Darts break from Sam Allen and another scrum on the Camberley 5 m line - they were penalised for boring in and a quickly taken Darts penalty saw Sam Allen go underneath the posts 20-12 on 39 mins....converted by Regnier 20-14.....A knock on by Darts saw a scrum to Camberley on 10m. The Camberley 8 breaks from scrum and on the Darts 10m the defence held up a maul only for the referee to give a penalty for something to Camberley....23-14 .. Final Camberley attack up the middle to Darts 10m saw Kieran Clarke get a yellow card and the penalty took the half time score to 26-14....

The second half got underway with Camberley attacking down left wing where they broke through a flat defence and go 31-14, and converted 33-14....Darts were still competing well, but the referee decided the visitors had pulled down a maul, but Darts defended well and a kick through from fly half and skipper, Regnier, led to a Camberley 22 drop where good skill up right wing by Matt Randall saw Darts into the Camberley 10, but a knock relieved the pressure.

Camberley then attacked down the Darts right where they won a lineout, spread the ball wide and scored a try 38-14....conversion missed...
A change for Darts saw Steve Garrett come on for Lewis Potter (dead leg) and the away side had to shuffle the pack with Louis Chapman moving to loack. A dropped ball allowed Camberley to attack and kick left to score another try 43-14, missed conversion on 60 mins....From the kick off Darts turned over the ball where a Sam Allen break saw a penalty awarded and Ollie Edwards going over for the 3rd try...43-19, missed conversion .. 65 mins....
Camberley then atacked down Darts right, but a knock on led to a scrum to Darts inside their own 22.
Good defence in midfield by Robbie Smith, but Camberley kicked through and scored a break away try - 48-19 conversion missed on 70mins....Darts attack again looking for the 4th try to get that bonus point, but went in to touch and a quickly taken lineout was covered by Darts and a penalty was awarded to them. Joe Gills came on for Brencher. A Darts lineout was lost and Camberley attacked down right...but penalty to Darts for not releasing....Lineout to Darts on half way and a knock on from Camberley led to a Darts scrum, but a knock on from Darts saw Camberley attack from their scrum and go over 53-19, which was converted....final score 55-19...

Darts will take some heart from the performance and were unlucky not to get the try bonus point they so deserved - onwards and upwards- COYD!!!
