This Sunday marked the inaugural game for Dartfordians newest team, the Darts U12 Pumas Against Old Elthamians Blues. The away game was really well supported and hotly anticipated with some first caps and position changes on display. Both teams were looking confident at the kickoff and the game set of to a roaring pace from the outset with OE’s breaking the line for the first score of the game. Every ruck was a hotly contested battle ground throughout the first half, with the Darts equalising before going behind again twice in the following plays. Just before half time, Darts broke through OE’s defense and ran the full length of the pitch before a tackle half a yard short of the line. In a final scramble, two quick passes brought the game level at three scores each at half time.

All supporters were roaring as Darts kicked off the second half long to the corner. OEs’ gathered the ball, but then spilled it in a crunching tackle for a quick score to put Darts in front. Momentum stayed with Darts as the rush defense took its toll and brought more try’s in quick succession. OE’s were fighting back hard at every breakdown and scored a couple of great team try’s with some powerful mauls. Relentless flowing attacks gave Darts 8 tries in the half by several different players to win the game by an outstanding 11 tries to 5.
