A New Chapter: Dartfordians U18 Girls
As the new season begins, 15 of last year’s Dartfordians U16 squad have now moved up into the U18 age group, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in their rugby journey. However, like many clubs across the region, Dartfordians face the challenge of player numbers at this higher age grade.
To ensure continued development and competitive rugby for all, the Dartfordians U18 Girls have joined forces with Sidcup and Beckenham, forming a combined squad. This collaborative approach not only provides the players with regular fixtures and varied experiences but also strengthens the bonds between local clubs committed to growing girls’ rugby in Kent and the South East.
The newly formed team is set to play their first fixture — a friendly against Medway U18 Girls — which will serve as both a debut outing for the players and an opportunity for the coaching team to assess the squad’s depth, balance, and on-field chemistry.
This match marks the beginning of an important developmental phase, as the players adapt to the pace and physicality of U18 rugby, while carrying forward the same determination and team spirit that defined their U16 success.
