After weeks of disrupted fixtures and mounting frustration, BASSDARTS finally kicked off their season — and did so in emphatic style — with a commanding 52–0 victory over BeccsValley RFC. The players delivered a performance full of pace, power, and clinical finishing, bringing the crowd to life despite the chill on the sidelines.
Fast Start Sets the Tone
BeccsValley kicked off, but BASSDarts immediately seized control. A clean collection, quick hands, and a burst down the wing resulted in the game’s opening try within moments. A well-struck conversion followed, giving the home side an early 7–0 lead.
The momentum only grew. After absorbing a spell of pressure near their own line, BASSDarts turned the ball over, took a quick tap from a penalty, and moved it wide with precision. Another brilliant finish extended the lead to 14–0, and BeccsValley were suddenly facing a mountain.
Relentless Pressure, Relentless Points
The scrum soon became a weapon, with BASSDarts overpowering BeccsValley and marching them backwards. From a 5-metre platform, strong carrying saw another score under the posts, stretching the advantage to 21–0.
Moments later, an injury stoppage for BeccsValley was followed by more sharp phases from the home side. A well-taken try on the far wing pushed the score to 26–0, and BASSDarts showed no sign of slowing.
A restart error from BeccsValley gifted a scrum, and once again the combined front row drove with authority. Quick distribution, a powerful break on the left, and another clinical finish brought the scoreboard to 33–0.
Nothing Gets Through the Wall
BeccsValley attempted to respond with wide attacks, but BASSDarts’ defensive line held firm — highlighted by a superb double tackle on the wing. When opportunities came, the home side remained ruthless.
A penalty for a high tackle gave BASSDarts another platform, and a direct run through the middle delivered yet another try. An accurate conversion made it 40–0, quickly followed by a further score to bring it to 47–0.
Final Blow — And County Rules End It
Even as BeccsValley attempted to rally, BASSDarts were unyielding. Another strong carry and smart support line produced the try that pushed the score to 52–0.
Under Kent County regulations, when any fixture that reaches a 50-point margin, a game is ended. With the differential now at 52 points, the official game was concluded, confirming a dominant and fully deserved victory for BASSDarts.
A Statement Performance
For a squad only recently formed — bringing together players from Dartfordians, Sidcup, and Beckenham — this was a remarkable demonstration of cohesion, structure, and attacking confidence. From set pieces to open play, the team controlled every aspect of the match.
After a stuttering start to the season due to cancellations, BASSDarts announced themselves with authority. With the league campaign now underway, this performance sends a clear message:
BASSDarts are here, they’re prepared, and they’re going to be a force this season.
