The U16 girls produced a powerful performance to book their place in the Kent Cup Final, overcoming a strong combined side from Sevenoaks, Beckenham, and Sidcup (“Boss”) with a convincing 30–5 victory.
Facing a newly formed team packed with Kent County talent, Darts knew they were in for a physical contest—and the opening exchanges did not disappoint. From the first whistle, Darts played with intensity, using effective pod work and hard, direct running lines to pin Boss deep in their own half.
Despite the early pressure, Boss showed tremendous resilience in defence, putting in some huge tackles that had the crowd wincing. After sustained phases from Darts, a well-timed jackal turnover gave Boss some relief and highlighted their threat on the counterattack.
The game settled into a clear pattern: Darts controlling possession and territory, while Boss defended bravely and looked dangerous from turnovers.
Darts eventually turned their dominance into points, running in five unanswered tries. Ife opened the scoring with a powerful line break, followed by tries from Anna and two from Amelia, showcasing clinical finishing. Sophie added another with a clever pick-and-go, catching the defence off guard.
Boss managed to get on the scoresheet with a hard-earned try, but Darts had the final say. A well-worked backs move spread the ball wide, allowing outside centre Maia to finish in style and seal a sixth try.
