It took a little time for the girls to get going, although from the outset the scrum made up of Ciar, Lucy and Lola in the front row, Lara and Emily in the second row and Teya at 8, were dominant.
Most of the possession was with the Fords but conditions were not favourable for our backs, Lauren at scrum half, captain Aleisha at fly half, centres of Georgie and Robyn were flanked on the wings by Lizzie and Evie, Izzy completed the back line at full back.
The dominance of the Fords was evident in the second play where the second rows were rested and Jess and Georgia took their chances to demonstrate their skills. The girls realised that they had to concentrate and play with more support for each other. Once the nerves were settled the girls got into their stride, commanding runs by Lola, Teya and Ciar in the forwards were complemented by some great skills from Lauren and Aleisha.
It was in the 3rd session that the girls really put their foot down, releasing Lizzie for a couple of tries, to join Aleisha and Lauren on the scoresheet.
Given the conditions, which were challenging to say the least, we can be proud of the girls for their resilience and determination to ensure they did not give away any points. Final score 43-0
