A great all round performance

Sunday saw the u13s host Pulborough plus 2 guests from Old Colfeians. Darts had a fantastic turnout of 16 players, so to keep things even Pulborough played with the 2 Old Colfeians plus 1 Darts player.

In a close fought 1st third, Darts came out on top 2-1 playing some great rugby and some fantastic defence work; well done to debutant Ayo T who flew down the wing to score her first match try. The second third saw Darts ring the changes and give some newer players a chance and Pulborough came back to take a 2-5 lead. However, this flattered the opposition as Darts neared the try line several times, but perhaps due to a little naivety, saw them just fail to convert these opportunities.

The final third saw Darts come back fighting and determined, pulling the score back to 5-5 including a superb team try and an opportunistic interception.

This was a great all round performance. Our forwards – Janae, Izzy, Ruby, Anika & Annabelle – giving strong performances; our tenacious scrum half Lacie; Maisie and Shannon showing aggressive back play; our dynamic centres Layla and captain, Lucy, covering every inch of the pitch; lightening feet Ayo T – who no one is going to catch!! Great support from Jess, Damita, Jojo & Amelia – always playing with a smile.

BUT this week the Bosh Ball went to Rosie who clearly had eaten raw meat for breakfast
