Darts U16 Crowned League 2 Champions
The Darts U16 squad entered the 2025–26 season facing a tough challenge. With Kent compressing all league fixtures into the first half of the season to accommodate GCSE commitments, preparation time was limited and the first league match loomed just two weeks away. What followed was a season defined by resilience, determination, and steady growth—ultimately culminating in the team being crowned League 2 Champions.
A Testing Start
The campaign began with a tough away friendly against Blackheath, resulting in a 56–0 defeat. It was a stark reminder of the level required and a clear signal that the season ahead would demand focus and hard work.
Building Momentum
The squad responded superbly. In the opening league fixture at home to Thanet, Darts delivered a gritty and disciplined performance to secure a 22–10 victory—an early indication of the team’s character.
A week later came a bruising 7–7 draw away at Old Elthamians, a match marked by physicality and unfortunately two significant injuries. Despite the setbacks, the team showed impressive resolve to leave with points on the board.
Two weeks on, Darts hosted long‑standing rivals Cranbrook. After establishing a strong first‑half lead, the team battled hard to secure a 26–26 draw in another fiercely contested encounter.
Setbacks and Strong Responses
The next fixture saw Darts travel to Ashford, where a slow start and a pair of interceptions proved costly in a 24–17 defeat. Yet once again, the squad demonstrated their ability to bounce back.
In the final home match before Christmas, Darts produced one of their most complete performances of the season—a commanding 50–0 victory over Beccahamians, showcasing both attacking flair and defensive discipline.
A New Year, A Renewed Push
The first league match of 2026 brought Old Alleynians to Bourne Road. With confidence high and structure improving week by week, the team delivered another dominant display, securing a 56–14 win and strengthening their position in the league.
Champions Confirmed
February’s final league fixture took the team away to Tonbridge Juddians. In a fiery and competitive encounter, Darts rose to the challenge once more, sealing a 26–12 victory, showing the importance of bonus point wins and confirming their status as League 2 Champions.
