Darts 2’s V Charlton Park 3’s

This Saturday saw Darts welcome their old Rivals Charlton Park to the memorial ground for an eagerly anticipated rematch in the Kent Invicta league 3. Back in November Darts had run out 38 -12 in hard fought encounter.
It appeared that everyone was well of for this match as almost the whole side had assembled in the bar a good 15 minutes before the required meet time, however many seemed to be suffering from nerves as there was a lot of shaking and cold sweats; either that or many of them were fighting colossal hangovers.
The match was one sided affair as Charlton Park had a weakened side due a lot of players being drafted up into their 2’s. just before half time a collision between a Darts player and the Ref saw a long time out whilst Dan the physio did a full on knee taping job on the Ref. whilst he was able to continue until half time he was unable to come out for the 2nd half.
Fortunately Park’s scrum half was a qualified ref and volunteered his services and he took control of the second half and did a sterling job and enabled 30 blokes to continue enjoying their Saturday afternoon, at least the darts players seemed to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.
Darts were very ably led by the other third of the captaincy triumvirate, Ricky who was well backed up by his stand in Lewis couchman when Rick was having a well-earned rest. In all Darts scored 11 tries with Tony Mead & Babs Ojo both making a welcome return after injury and both crossed the white wash and scoring, credit to all the Charlton Park players for sticking at it and giving it their all for 80 minutes. Also a big thanks to our stand in ref who did a great job and I hope he enjoyed both halves in his different roles.
