The Demons travelled to Southwark with a much changed side

The Demons travelled to Southwark with a much changed side from previous weeks. Tim Stagg came in at prop to add his strength and experience and Lewis Potter in at 2nd row alongside skipper Tom Ball following impressive performances in the Angels. The team also had three players from last season's successful Academy team, Jonny Regnier at 10, Callum Loyal at 15 and Michael young at No 8. Unfrotunately Kai Lewes mixed up Sureey Quays with Southwark and got completely lost, bless him he is only a country lad and didn't like all the noise and tall building s from the big smoke. Darts started well and a catch and drive at the lineout sent Lee Kernott over for the opening try which was converted by Tom Mothersole. This was followed with a fine solo effort from Callum Loyal which was also converted by Tom. 14-0. A good fightback from Southwark was rewarded with a good converted try to take the score to 14-7.A strong run from Navi on the wing saw him go over for Darts third try to stretch the lad even further to 19- 7. Dartys were in their stride and a good break by Jonny Regnier saw him go over for the fourth try which was converted by Tom. 26-7. Big Lee Kernott crashed over for his second try to take the score to 31-7. Despite the score Southwark were not finished and came back with their second try 31-12. BooBoo Crouch showed his skills with a great individual try again converted by Tom. 38-12. A penalty in front of the posts gave Darts a half time lead od 41-12. darts made changes at half time with Callum returning to his normal position at scrum half with james matkins moving to full back and Bradley Roper replacing Ben Crouch in the centre. Lee Kernott claimed his third try with Tom again adding the extras. 48-12. Bradley Roper swapped positions with Jonny and immediately glided through to take the score to 55-12 with tom's conversion. Southwark showed great character with a well taken try despite playing against a stronger Darts team. 55-19. NGH scored the final Darts try to finish the scoring when Tom again converted. 62-19.
A tough day for Southwark against top of the table Darts but they showed great resilience and despite the score Darts knew they had been in a game, Great performances from three try Lee Kernott as well as from the front row which gave a platform for the back row of Tobin Kernott and Young to control the game but with a great individual try and his speed in thought and body the man of the match went to Callum Loyal
