The Demons made the short trip

The Demons made the short trip to a groiund that has caused some heartbreak in the past. Especially the Kent Final against Colfeians and this was definitely a chance to right some wrongs. The day got off to a blustery start with wind rain and sun all on the menu leading up to the kick. Medway got us under way with some hard hits and fast ruck work to try and put the pressure on the mighty "Lemons" but we are not top of the table for nothing. Their pressure largely led to nothing near the try line and with them running out of a bit steam some killer blows were landed. Dartfordians on the other hand are still building on previous successes. Today proved to be a day for the pack with several penalties won at ruck and scrum time giving us the platform in the opposition half Two first half tries came from lineout and and scrum dominance with Tom "Pickles" Nichols and George Keefe on the score sheet. The Juggernaut Billy Wilson and debutant Paddy "The Baddy " Adams saw the Demons get the Bonus Point in the firsthalf. The first half finished with Medway being judged held up over the line but we will hold reserve comment on that. Medway were suffering and the visitors were not holding back.
The secondhalf continued in much the same vein as the first with Lewis Barratt and Fin Nichols crossing the line to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The final twenty minutes allowed the Mighty Lemoms to add even more flair to the scoreboard with Captain John O'Brien crossing over for his first hattrick to ensure he was purchasing the beers wwhen back at the clubhouse. The first two came from tap penalties totalling a toatl of 10 metres ran. The third came from a quick tap penalty from 80 metres out. With a lot of work to be done JOB broke three initial would be tacklers before side stepping the covering winger and handing off three spectators along the final 40 metres. His jug would be needed to ease the pain of the South African victory and the pain of listening to him recounting the tales of his endeavours. Medway took the shine off the score with a last minute try very much against the run of play but this kept the Demons unbeaten heading into November.
