Another strong win for the Demons

On the last day of September with the weather reaching mid 20's Darts Demonsproduced rugby that was at times as hot as the Indian Summer experienced at Bourne Rd. The visitors Footscray Knew they were in for a toughtask going aainst a side that had scored 57 unanswered points the week before. While there were some changes to the team from the Lordswood fixture credit must go to Footscray for starting the match really well putting Darts under pressure especially at the breakdown. Less Dupont and Ntamack and more Dickson and Myler James Matkins and Ali Barker dislayed a pragmatic style early on. They marshalled the forwards and backs until the dam broke and then the tries started flooding in. Speaking of flooding through, the second row partners of Lewis Barrett and Tom Adams both produced countless line breaks ( it may have been only one of them as they bothe wear the same head gear and are difficult to tell apart ) occasionally deciding to forgooncoming support and kick through and as expected these kicks were average at best. Demons stalwart Billy Wilson delivered an expectedly powerful performance while Dom Fisher in the centre missed a 2 vs 1 opportunitybut easily made up for it with strong running lines a defence. This dominance led to Footscray often apperaingin disarray and struggling to exittheir own 22 providing ample opportunities for the Demons to score. Dartfordians might be disappointed to have conceded a try and two penalties and probably left a few tries on the pitch, however after three matches with a maximum of 15 points and 133 points scored the team maintains its top spot on the table and provides a solid foundation to build the rest of the season upon.
